This title held strong until 1969 when the George Bush Intercontinental Airport opened its doors to the Houston public. Hobby Airport then became the secondary airport for local air travel in the region. In 2013, Southwest Airlines took the opportunity to build their hub at Hobby Airport and make it a focal point to grow flights in this region.

Specifically, it was a desire to mentor and connect with kids that inspired him to start Revolution Bike Ministry (RBM), a program through which at-risk kids learn the value of hard work, friendship and community by helping to rebuild bikes.

It’s crucial to look beyond active fire protection, such as fire extinguishers, fire detectors and sprinkler systems and pay equal attention to the less-visible, passive fire protection systems that work to contain and compartmentalize fire and smoke and its point of origin.
