ClarkDietrich Adds BlazeFrame® Tape to Line of Firestopping Products

West Chester, Ohio – ClarkDietrich, the largest manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing products in North America, is giving framing contractors greater flexibility in leveraging the firestopping power of its BlazeFrame family of products with the introduction of BlazeFrame® Tape.

Sold in rolls, BlazeFrame Tape is a 2mm-thick strip of intumescent material that can be field applied to metal framing profiles to provide an air and smoke seal. When exposed to heat above 375º F, the intumescent material expands up to 35 times its size. This provides protection from heat and flame passage during a fire event.

When used in conjunction with the applicable BlazeFrame deflection tracks and BlazeFrame Perimeter L-Bead, BlazeFrame Tape is UL 2079-fifth edition compliant with UL 2079 Class II or III Movement Capabilities.

“We’ve had great success with BlazeFrame® firestopping products since launching in 2012. Now we’re making it even easier for our customers to benefit from the added safety and labor savings of these technologies with BlazeFrame Tape,” said Ryan Reed, category manager, ClarkDietrich. “Field applying BlazeFrame Tape gives contractors the ability to install a fire-rated joint before drywall is installed and delivers the same performance as our other BlazeFrame products.”

BlazeFrame Tape is available in 3/4", 1" and 1-1/4" widths and features a peel and stick adhesive backing for easy application. Ordered through ClarkDietrich Clip Express™, contractors can expect to have product on-site within 24 hours of their order.
