ClarkDietrich Stands Out in a Crowd at the 2018 INTEX Expo and AWCI’s Annual Convention

At this years’ INTEX Expo and AWCI’s Annual Convention, ClarkDietrich Building Systems continued its winning ways by receiving three AWCI Excellence in Construction Quality Awards. The coveted award recognizes excellence in construction quality in complicated and challenging projects, and is awarded to a team of AWCI members.

In the Interior Plastering category, ClarkDietrich was part of the team awarded for their work on the Minnesota State Capitol Repairs, Restoration and Preservation project.

The overall focus of this project was to take the interior of the building into the next 1oo years of its life, and included asset preservation, remodeling, and other improvements to restore the state’s most famous landmark. The project team consisted of Mulcahy Nickolaus, HGA Architects and Engineers and JE Duran Construction.

The winning project in the EIFS category was the Le Meridien/AC Hotel in Downtown Denver. ClarkDietrich worked alongside lead contractor, South Valley Drywall, to complete the 20-story, 100,000 square foot hotel project.

Project specifications included a prefabricated EIFS system in which they were able to incorporate BIM modeling to design the finished panel system. This system was built in an off-site climate-controlled warehouse resulting in an increase of on-site production by three times what’s normally expected. The project team consisted of Colorado Drywall Supply, Gypsum Products (Allied Building Products), HKS, and Swinerton Builders.

Lastly, in the Drywall category, ClarkDietrich and the rest of the project team were awarded for their work on the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection located in Leawood, Kansas.

In order to help the church accommodate its growing community, the construction team remodeled the existing facility by adding an acoustically versatile sanctuary and converting the existing auditorium into a multi-purpose room.

The project team consisted of Performance Contracting, IncHolmes Drywall Supply (AD Building Materials), HGA Architects and Engineers and McCownGordon Construction.

“We truly enjoy every chance we get to be able to work with such talented, hard-working project teams,” said Jim Collins, President, ClarkDietrich. “These awards really reinforce the accomplishments that can be made through collaboration.”

ClarkDietrich is very proud of these accomplishments and would like to thank AWCI for these honorable recognitions.
