Specifying ClarkDietrich's RedHeader RO™ system in your Architectural Specifications opens the door for contractors to utilize our superior product line. By including RedHeader RO in your project specification, you eliminate the time, effort and cost involved with the substitution and approval process.

The suggested specification language provided below provides a framework to include ClarkDietrich Building Systems as a preferred Manufacturer for Cold-Formed Metal Framing Systems. This language will not replace what you currently have in your project specifications, it will only add to it, to ensure RedHeader RO is approved on your next project.

X. Opening Framing

1. Allow for alternative valued engineered opening framing systems (RedHeader RO™ System) manufactured by ClarkDietrich Building Systems.
   (Designed to provide an opening alternative system for conventional interior framing and/or exterior curtain wall built-up header and jamb framing by reducing labor and components up to 50 percent)

1. Exterior systems are subject to requirements of code evaluation reports and/or shop drawings with engineering calculations signed and sealed by a registered PE (Professional Engineer).
2. Minimum Material Thickness: As required by design
3. Minimum Flange Width: As required by design

X. Opening Framing

1. Framed Openings: ClarkDietrich™ Building Systems Interior RedHeader RO™ Cold-Formed galvanized steel one piece header and jamb studs. Material: Galvanized steel meeting or exceeding the requirements of ASTM A754 for conditions indicated below:

1. Header Clip: RedHeader RO™ Drop ‘N Lok™ Clip. Attachment screw pattern per manufacturer’s printed literature.
2. Header Flange Length: 3 inch (76 mm) HS300 flange.
3. Jamb Flange Length: 3 inch (76 mm) JS300 flange.
4. Minimum Yield Strength: 33ksi (227 MPa).
5. Minimum Material Thickness: 33 mil (20 gauge) 0.0329 inches.
6. Minimum Material Thickness: 43 mil (18 gauge) 0.0428 inches.
7. Minimum Material Thickness: As required by design.
