USG Area Separation Wall Systems

USG SHEETROCK® brand area separation wall systems

(Available Eastern U.S. only)

These systems are non-load-bearing gypsum panel partitions that become an integral part of fire-resistive common walls for multifamily construction. Barriers for fire and sound, these walls install quickly and perform effectively. SHEETROCK brand Area Separation Wall Systems have been comprehensively tested for a 2-hour fire resistance rating (UL Design No U336) only when all of the system components are used together. Substitutions of any of the components are not recommended.

Metal framing components for the system consist of USG H-Studs, USG J-Runners and USG Aluminum Breakaway Clips. Used with SHEETROCK brand gypsum liner panels, these components produce a strong, protective fire barrier that also reduces sound.
